Fabrique Bakery Review
Fabrique is a bakery that's popular for their buns. With a number of London locations. I visited the East London branch, near hoxton station. Fabrique is a really cool bakery in an exposed warehouse. Situated in a good location. Close to transport options and on a peaceful lane. There's also indoor and outdoor seating at Fabrique. I was served by a bit of a frosty waitress. There were no smiles at all.
The layout of fabrique bakery is really cool and casual. I love that the bakers can be seen preparing their infamous buns directly from my table. Along with the giant bags of rye flour and other food supplies stashed round about where I sat. However. Produce was stacked high against the windows. Which was not a good look. As you can't see outside. I could just about see the tops of trees.
To eat in at Fabrique, I had a hot chocolate and a chocolate chip cookie. The chocolate chip cookie was too hard and not memorable. The hot chocolate was surprisingly good. I ordered a hot chocolate without any expectation. As I'm often let down by hot chocolate vendors.
I ordered one of each bun to take home from Fabrique. A blueberry. cinnamon and cardamom bun.
The blueberry bun from fabrique is delicious. With the perfect soft to hard pastry ratio. Not too sweet or too dry, which is often where some bakers go wrong.
The standout item on the menu at Fabrique bakery has to be their cardamom bun. It's really flavoursome without being overpowering. The taste of cardamom really comes through with each bite and tastes delicious. Each bun was perfectly buttery. I highly recommend picking up some cardamom buns from Fabrique bakery. I'll certainly score a few points when I next bring back some cardamom buns from fabrique bakery.
