L.A Must-Do's
Let's go back in time to 2012. A time in which I wasn't much of a photographer. It was my husband J and I's first holiday away together, and first week long break from our son! I was in Los Angeles for a modelling job. This vacation was extra special. One that I'll never forget because I had previously never imagined I would be in L.A and it's where our love for travelling was born. Our first ever time boarding a plane together for some fun overseas in the LA sun.
Interesting story. Before this trip to L.A, I had the most vivid dream. I dreamt that I was in Los Angeles. Sun shining. Driving my favourite kind of car - a lowrider. Tupac's to live and die in L.A was playing. I woke up from this dream feeling down. Sighing about my seemingly impossible desire to visit the city of angels. Thinking that it would never. Ever happen. Who would have known that I would be touching down on the airport runway at LAX roughly a year later!
L.A is such a vibrant city, with loads of beautiful beaches in different neighbourhoods. There are some peaceful L.A beaches that don't get as much traffic, and then there's the infamous Venice beach. Full of artsy. Tatted. Ambitious types. Expect to enjoy lots of free performances and people watching. With such a diverse crowd of tourists and locals.
We checked out Beverley hills and Hollywood. Not the Hollywood sign but the boulevard. Beverley Hills and Hollywood boulevard were quite basic.
My husband will agree that the must do's during a vacation to L.A are beach hopping. Venice beach is vibrant and fun. Not the beach I'd choose for some peaceful sunbathing. Check out hermosa beach for that instead.
Our second recommendation during a holiday to L.A is to visit Universal studios. It's the best theme park I've ever visited. Universal studios is a must for movie fanatics. You'll get to find out how some of the amazing scenes in some of the most well known movies of all time are created.
It's worth noting that the urban parts of Los Angeles don't get as hot as the more affluent side of L.A. Inglewood. Where our inexpensive hotel was located, was quite chilly in comparison to the sweltering heat of Hollywood.
