Canary Wharf rooftop bar review
My last night of freedom before the city went into lockdown was spent at a rooftop bar in Canary Wharf.
Bokan 38 and 39 have to be the best rooftop bar in Canary Wharf. Conveniently located at the top of novotel. Just 5 minutes walking distance from Canary Wharf underground metro and dlr stations. This Canary Wharf rooftop bar serve up three course meals as well as bar snacks and a lengthy selection of drinks.
With floor to ceiling windows. Dim lighting in the evenings and live music on some nights. The Canary Wharf rooftop bar really is a great place for a romantic date or evening spent with friends.
Bokan 38 was Lively even at 6.30pm on a Thursday. Two cosy seats by giant windows were calling me. The city twinkling below. London takes on a completely different look from up here. It doesn't seem quite so..ugly. The ambience was perfectly dim lit by the windows.
Graham's 20 yr old port was my drink of choice for the evening. Which is a sweet sherry. I got to sample two red wines as well. So just ask to try one if you so desire. The drinks list at Bokan 38 is lengthy. With a range of cocktails that I'd like to come back and try.
Live music kept me entertained and a selection of delicious snacks kept hunger at bay. I ordered some olives and the portion was quite large. Focaccia bread with hummus and fried padron peppers. Bokan 38 is the perfect place for an impressive date. It's really nice that you receive table service throughout your stay at the rooftop bar.
Bokan 39 is just a few steps up and has it's own bar tucked away inside a glass enclosed area. Bokan 39 rooftop terrace is really something special. With open air views across Canary Wharf. But only on a much warmer night!
