Pretty places

As we're on lockdown. Unable to travel anywhere anytime soon. I thought I'd reminisce over some of the pretty places that I've been fortunate to visit so far during my travels. Surprisingly some of these pretty places I didn't have to go too far to see.

Take a trip down memory lane with me. In no particular order..

Lake Ohrid

Our visit to Lake Ohrid in Macedonia was just out of season. So we had the peaceful lake all to ourselves. The perfect reflection of mountains over such calming still waters was so pretty. Macedonia is a really low cost destination which is an extra bonus.

Le Jardin Majorelle

This garden in Marrakesh has been voted one of the best gardens in the world. With an array of gorgeous blooms. Including the largest rhododendron bush I've ever seen. It really is one pretty place.

Uchisar Castle

Another natural rock formation in the Turkish home of pretty places that is Cappadocia. Uchisar castle was our view. Directly from the luxurious hotel suite we stayed in. Uchisar castle is a hot spot for wedding photography. We even saw a bridal shoot taking place during our time there.

Dover Cliffs

Going for a stroll and stopping to picnic at the pretty white cliffs of Dover made for a wonderful outing.

Krka 

Waterfall at Krka National Park in Split

Such a pretty place. With impressive waterfalls. A relaxing boat ride to this national park in Croatia and the ability to swim up to the Skradinski Buk waterfall with medium sized fish swimming at your feet.

Mykonos has a number of pretty places including their row of white windmills.

Bracciano Lake

Bracciano Lake - Italy

This lake in Italy with colourful. Charismatic stalls sets a pretty backdrop.

Richmond Hill

On a hot day in London it's lovely to be in Richmond. Richmond hill overlooks the river Thames where a romantic wooden boat can be hired out.

I loved my time spent hiking to one of the best beaches in England. With the unique character of durdle door. A natural rock formation.

Venice

Venice truly was a romantic place. With pretty canals and hidden places to explore.

Goreme Cappadocia

Selfie in Cappadocia

Between the pretty. Natural rock formations. Known as fairy chimneys and dreamy hot air balloon flights at sunrise. Goreme is definitely one of the prettiest places in the world! The air quality in Cappadocia is fantastic also. Coming from an overcrowded. Over polluted city like London. I can really appreciate such a thing.

Croatia is another country with numerous pretty places. Including the glowing blue cave in Split.

Burano

This small island not far from Venice. Houses yet more pretty places to explore. Including canal waterways and the most colourful buildings.

Torcello is another gorgeous island near Venice. With pretty canal waterways and places to discover.

Megali Ammos

The countryside of Mykonos. With hidden places and a peaceful. Secluded beach.

Martha Brae River

Bamboo Rafting : Martha Brae River Jamaica

I'll not forget my honeymoon. Especially the stop off in Jamaica to enjoy a romantic bamboo rafting adventure. Down the clearest river ever.

Blue Lagoon Iceland

The unique experience at the blue lagoon. Definitely one of the best spas in the world!
