New romantic live music restaurant
I was invited to the newly opened. Family run restaurant called the strings. This beautiful. Live music restaurant is in a perfect location across from the London eye. So we took advantage of the lovely. Night time walk across Westminster Bridge. After our five star dining experience at the strings.
Candlelit tables and comfortable sofas face a mini stage. Where intimate live performances take place.
The design here is sophisticated and romantic. With one wall lined with framed guitars and a stunning. Electric fireplace. Plus a bar area to the other side of the restaurant.
Live performances at strings are courtesy of talented Santy the co-owner of Strings restaurant. Table reservations can be made online at www.thestringslondon.com
Food here is Spanish themed to compliment the Spanish guitar being played. With a three course, fine dining menu. Including sharing plates. Tapas. Starters. Mains and dessert.
Queso platter |
To drink I enjoyed a basil smash mojito. A gin cocktail with lemon. Mint. Basil and blackberries. Our drinks arrived with some seasoned olives and a basket of fresh bread.
Our queso starter was delicious and we were treated to our first performance of the night during it. As Santy took to the stage. He introduced himself to everyone and explained the song he was about to play.
Strings Quinoa |
The curtains in the restaurant automatically close and lights are dimmed. Which adds to the excitement of the performances and made me feel like I was at a concert.
Santy serenaded the room with romantic. Heartfelt Spanish acoustics. As the perfomance ended. The room erupted in applause and lights came back on whilst the curtains were re-opened.
It was soon time for our main course. I enjoyed the strings quinoa. A delicious. Warm plate of quinoa. Beautifully presented with sauteed red and green peppers. Fresh parsley, mint, red onions and humous-beetroot dip.
During our main course. We were treated to another performance on the Spanish guitar. This time a classical song of a different style and tempo.
For dessert. I enjoyed some chocolate mousse. Which was delicious and satisfying. With the perfect chocolate mousse housed in a delectable milk and white chocolate shell. Plus a warm orange slice at the base.
The other dessert options sounded equally as tempting. With crème brulee and fresh fruit sorbets available. I tried some of my husbands mango sorbet. Garnished in fresh pistachios and was not disappointed. It was deliciously tangy.
During dessert. We were once again treated to the sounds of the Spanish guitar. With not one. But two songs being played by our wonderful host for the evening.
Santy and his wife Eleni do an excellent job of taking care of their guests. With perfectly flavoured food. Including meat and vegetarian options. I can't wait to revisit.
