Judith Blacklock floristry school event
I was invited to the Judith Blacklock flower school in London's Belgravia. For the launch party of her amazing maypole flower installation. To celebrate Belgravia in bloom 2022.
This years Belgravia in bloom is an extra special one. Which coincides with the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and the Rhs Chelsea flower show. Each year Belgravia in South West London comes alive with colourful. Artistic floral installations.
This years theme is beautifully British and Judith Blacklock has outdone herself with a stunning maypole. Chosen for it's representation of fertility and rebirth. Following on from spring. When flowers started to bloom.
Maypoles date back to the middle ages. A time when people would dance around tall poles at folk festivals. Over time these began to be decorated with ribbons and flowers.
The event began after a very cloudy start to the day. With sunshine appearing at the perfect moment for all of Judith's guests to fully enjoy the event. The Judith Blacklock flower school is in a beautiful location. Free of pedestrian traffic and vehicles. I loved the stunning maypole. Decked in colourful ribbons and fresh flowers.
With tables outside for catching some rays, as well as a cocktail masterclass taking place inside the flower school. I enjoyed some nibbles and a welcome glass of rosé prosecco. Courtesy of Corte Molino. A brand that became available to the UK just last year sponsored the event.
The flower school has some lovely dried flowers hanging and perfectly arranged books. Plants and fresh flowers both inside and out.
It was also a wonderful opportunity to meet Judith herself. She's the editor of floral magazine and has written a number of books. I can highly recommend attending a workshop at her flower school.
During the event we were all able to make and take home our own floral hair clip. There were even some children in attendance. Dancing around the maypole outside. With flowers in their hair. We were generously given gift bags to take home at the end of an enjoyable evening.
Anyone who visits Judith Blacklock flower school during opening hours, whilst Rhs Chelsea flower show takes place. Can enjoy the maypole installation outside the school. As well as a complimentary glass of Corte Molino prosecco. The Chelsea flower show commences on May 29th 2022

About Corte Molino
Corte Molino prosecco is made by Borgo Molino in Treviso Italy. It can be purchased at Co-op stores nationwide.
A bottle of their extra dry was gifted to us. With its striking Tiffany-Blue label. Corte Molino extra dry is made from a selection of Glera grapes. Straw yellow in colour. Floral on the nose and fruity on the palate.
Corte Molino DOC rose is a pastel pink bottle that we enjoyed during the Judith Blacklock floral school event. Made from a delightful blend of Glera and Pinot Nero grapes. It's vibrant pink in colour with floral notes and strawberry and raspberry flavours. I genuinely love both the extra dry and the rose and Prosecco/champagne is one of my favourite things to drink.
