Festive afternoon tea at Rubens
Reviewing Festive afternoon tea at Rubens at the palace
I visited Rubens at the Palace in November for a winter wonderland afternoon tea. Christmas afternoon tea began with some delicious mulled wine in cleverly presented glass mugs. The sprinkling of sweet icing sugar on the outside of the cups resembles snow.
Scones were a selection of savoury cheese. Plain and festive fruit spiced scones. With mouth watering cakes that include a pistachio Christmas tree yule log. Decorated with white chocolate Christmas trees. We were sat overlooking Buckingham Palace and even saw some royal carriages. Horses and royal guards.
I enjoyed an unlimited supply of sandwiches with five different fillings. Black tea with Rose. Apple and cinnamon tea and some chocolate tea. The setting of this five star hotel is stunning and the service was superb. There's even a cozy fireplace in the New York bar and a complimentary sweet shelf with meringue and chocolate.
Located in the heart of London's royal district, just a short stroll from Victoria Station, The Rubens at the Palace offers an unbeatable location for experiencing all that the incredible British capital has to offer.
