Celebrating UK Coffee Week with Cafe Solo
Celebrating UK Coffee Week in London
Some of my favourite coffee spots are taking part in UK coffee week such as cupp bubble tea and host Cafe - a coffee shop set in a beautiful East London church.
UK Coffee Week runs from the 14th to 20th October joining together coffee shops, roasters and bars to unite coffee lovers across the country.
How to enjoy UK coffee week?
As one of the cities with the most coffee shops and coffee types in the whole world, you won't be hard-pressed to find a delicious coffee, beverage or coffee based dessert to celebrate UK coffee week with.
Coffee
With a number of ways to enjoy a hot or cold cup of coffee. Different types of milks and machinery. Coffee has come a very long way since it's first introduction to London in 1652, when London's first ever coffee shop opened.
Cocktails
With numerous cocktail bars across London serving coffee based drinks such as espresso martini you can enjoy coffee at any time, hot or cold. And how about having the making your own cocktails?
Desserts
Coffee-based desserts
I like Affogato Which is simply an ice cream with coffee poured over the top. Check out Italian beer coffee. Creme or
Tiramisu Is probably the most popular coffee-based dessert and with good reason. It is delicious when done well and there are a number of cafes and restaurants serving up tiramisu in London.
Coffee and walnut cake seems to be a very popular coffee-based dessert or treat and you can find recipes online to make your own.
Events
There are loads of Live events taking place throughout the UK for coffee week, including a vintage routemaster bus stationed in Spitalfields London, where visitors can enjoy complimentary coffee, masterclasses and take part in workshops - like latte art and a Chinese calligraphy session. Close by, the Wombats hostel are offering free yoga sessions and you can enjoy an espresso coffee before or after your session.
Why not take part in the coffee tasting and tiramisu making event at Smeg this week. The event takes place on the 17th and tickets are required. Visit UKCoffeeweek.com for more info.

About CAFÉ SOLO
In the early 1980s, in Soho's vibrant club scene, bartender Dick Bradsell had a revelation. The story goes that Bradsell created the drink after a young model sidled up to the bar and asked for something to “wake me up and f**k me up”. His solution was a combination of vodka, fresh espresso, and coffee liqueur, shaken into a frothy blend of bittersweet delight. With a nod to 1980s flair, CAFÉ SOLO channels the vibrant energy of London’s iconic cocktail culture, capturing the spirit of an era where creativity flowed as freely as the drinks! Cafe Solo is available to purchase online at Amazon and other stores.
